At Armour Insurance Brokers Ltd., they know how important it is to feel protected in difficult times. That’s why they are helping to ensure quality, compassionate health care is available when it’s needed most with a generous matching gift to Osler Foundation’s Health Care Heroes campaign.

Thanks to incredible support from more than 3,500 donors, Osler Foundation has met its initial $2.5 million fundraising goal in support of Osler’s response to COVID-19. As the health care needs of the community continue in this pandemic and beyond, Osler Foundation has increased its fundraising goal to $5 million. To help mobilize the community to support health care close to home, Armour Insurance Ltd. will match new donations—dollar for dollar—up to $500,000.

Health Care Heroes care for you, when you need it most

“We are going through the toughest time in 100 years. The only way our health system can survive is to have enough funds for equipment, education and facilities,” says Sukhdeep Kang, CEO, Armour Insurance Brokers Ltd. “When we need it, we all receive the best services from our hospitals, and our frontline workers have always been there for us—including in the face of life-threatening challenges like COVID-19.”

Donations made to the campaign will fund essential pieces of equipment like ventilators, vital signs monitors, vein finders, stretchers, wheelchairs, and electric beds at Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

“We are very well aware that there is a need for funds to provide best-in-class health care to Peel Region’s ever-growing population, and Osler foundation is striving to make this happen,” says Sukhdeep. “Our hospitals need funds, and we must support them. Contributing even a small amount will help to enhance the services for all of us.”

For Sukhdeep, the pandemic has provided an opportunity for reflection and gratitude. “This time has taught us a lot, and made us appreciate everything we have in our lives. We are thankful that we are fortunate enough to be able to give back to the community.”
