Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the women who nurture, guide and love us unconditionally.
For me, it’s also a time of deep gratitude—because I still get to hug my mom, talk to her every day, and laugh with her over dinner. But it wasn’t always certain we’d have that chance.
I was still in high school when my world stopped. My mom, Sarvjeet, had finally gone for a mammogram after weeks of us urging her. She returned home with the results and a diagnosis that shattered us—breast cancer.
I remember hiding in the bathroom, crying, convinced I was going to lose her.
But thanks to the expert and compassionate care she received at Brampton Civic Hospital, my mom’s story didn’t end there. The treatment she received saved her life. More than that, the team cared for her, holding her hand through every terrifying step. They were our anchor.
Today, my mom is healthy and thriving. And I’ve chosen to give back by volunteering with Osler Foundation—to help ensure other families get the same chance we did.
This Mother’s Day, I invite you to join me in honouring the mothers in our lives with a gift to Osler Foundation. Your donation will help fund essential equipment and services that our hospitals urgently need—including expanded cancer care services right here in our community.
Donate today so more families can keep holding their mothers close.
Because when a hospital saves someone you love, you carry that gift in your heart forever.
With deepest thanks,
