Golf Tournament Raises $252,000 to Support Etobicoke General Hospital

September 24, 2025, ETOBICOKE – Now in its 29th year, the Osler Open: Etobicoke Invitational golf tournament has once again hit a hole in one for local health care, raising $252,000 on September 22 in support of Etobicoke General Hospital (Etobicoke General).

The annual fundraiser, hosted by William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation) and presented by IFS, welcomed 144 golfers to Islington Golf Club where they enjoyed 18 holes on the scenic course along with gourmet food, on-course contests and activities, all while raising funds for equipment and redevelopment needs at Etobicoke General.

In Ontario, communities must fund 100 per cent of hospital equipment and a portion of redevelopment projects, making events like Osler Open: Etobicoke Invitational vital to ensure exceptional care is available, close to home.

“It’s incredible to see this ongoing support for Etobicoke General Hospital,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation. “My family has relied on Etobicoke General for decades and thanks to generous support of events like the Osler Open: Etobicoke Invitational, it will continue to be here for generations to come.”      

“This is an exciting time for William Osler Health System and we are grateful to all of the sponsors and golfers who helped make this event a success,” said Dr. Frank Martino, President and CEO, William Osler Health System. “Not only will the funds raised today help purchase life-saving equipment, they will also help fund facility enhancements to support Osler’s commitment to research and academics, including our partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University’s new School of Medicine, to train the health care providers of tomorrow.”
