October 30, 2024, BRAMPTON – On Monday, William Osler Health System (Osler) and William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation) proudly hosted a special celebration at Brampton City Hall to recognize Greenpark Group’s generous $12 million donation in support of hospital redevelopment in Brampton. The event was co-hosted by Brampton Mayor, Patrick Brown, alongside leaders from Osler and Osler Foundation.

Greenpark Group, led by Founder and CEO, Carlo Baldassarra and his family has made this transformational gift—the largest in the company’s history—in special dedication to The Carangel Corporation, the philanthropic arm of Greenpark Group. Named in honour of Carlo and his wife of 61 years, Angela, Carangel was established to ensure that the communities built by Greenpark have access to quality health care. These funds will support the transformation of Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness (Peel Memorial) into Brampton’s new hospital.

Carlo Baldassarra, Founder and CEO of Greenpark Group, is an ardent champion of community health care. “The most important place in any community is the hospital, because without health, nothing else matters. Everyone needs the hospital at some point in their life, and I am so proud and happy that we are able to support health care for Brampton and the surrounding areas with this gift.”

Greenpark Group has made significant contributions to Brampton's residential landscape including the Professor’s Lake community—one of Mr. Baldassarra’s first projects in the city. Greenpark has also developed commercial spaces catering to local and national businesses, as well as office buildings that support professional growth.

As Osler continues to evolve to meet the increasing health care needs of one of Canada’s most diverse and fastest-growing regions, the new Peel Memorial Hospital will help advance the community’s health care capacity and services for decades to come. The hospital will feature a multi-storey patient tower for patients requiring longer hospital stays, with space to accommodate future expansion. Additionally, the facility will provide new and expanded outpatient clinics, day programs, and expanded seniors care and mental health and addictions programs for Brampton and the surrounding areas. The new patient tower will also house a new, purpose-built Emergency Department.
