SHELAGH BARRY

Shelagh Barry is a senior leader in health care philanthropy with deep expertise in fundraising, including her extensive work with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Shelagh began her career in human resources and insurance before discovering her passion for non-profit work, which led her to a distinguished career in fundraising and philanthropic leadership.
Since joining Osler Foundation 10 years ago, Shelagh has played a key role in advancing the organization’s mission, combining strategic vision, empathy, and a commitment to meaningful community impact. As Interim President and CEO, she continues to drive transformative initiatives, ensuring that the Foundation’s efforts create lasting benefits for patients, families and the broader community.
A member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Shelagh is actively engaged in the sector through ongoing leadership development and conference participation. She regularly attends and presents at industry conferences, sharing insights on Osler’s sector-leading culture of philanthropy and initiatives such as the This Is My Hospital campaign.
Recognized for her ability to blend leadership with compassion, Shelagh is a passionate advocate for empowering women in philanthropy, emphasizing how their perspectives and dedication shape stronger, more inclusive communities.
