This year marks a monumental milestone for William Osler Health System Foundation. Not only do we proudly celebrate Peel Memorial’s 100^th anniversary—a century of care, compassion, and community—but we also celebrate the most impactful year in Osler Foundation’s history.

From transformative philanthropy to groundbreaking programs, 2024 has shown what’s possible when a community comes together to support health care close to home. As we honour Peel Memorial’s rich legacy, we look boldly toward the future—with a new hospital on the horizon and an unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and equity in care.

In September, the Tour de Bleu cycling event—hosted by Mattamy Homes and the Peter Gilgan Foundation—raised $6.23 million, bringing its two-year total for Osler Foundation to an incredible $11.9 million.

These funds have already helped launch Osler’s Adolescent Intensive Day (AID) Program, providing life-saving mental health support for youth facing self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

August’s third annual Hockey Night in Brampton—hosted by Mayor Patrick Brown—was the most successful yet, raising $14 million to support the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton’s second hospital. NHL stars and community generosity helped make this a record-breaking night in support of a healthier future.

Carlo and Angela Baldassarra, through Greenpark Group and the Carangel Corporation, made a historic $12 million donation—the largest in Greenpark Group’s history—to help build the new Peel Memorial. Their gift reflects decades of leadership in building not just homes, but healthier communities.

Over the past fiscal year, Osler Foundation’s signature events—including the Osler Open golf tournaments in Brampton and Etobicoke, and the vibrant Holi Gala, have united business leaders, community members, and philanthropic champions to raise over $1.3 million in support of local health care. These events embody the energy, generosity, and shared commitment that drive Osler forward, bringing us ever closer to a future of world-class, accessible care for all.

Since opening in 1925, Peel Memorial has been a cornerstone of care for Brampton. As we celebrate its 100^th anniversary, we also mark a bold new beginning—with a new hospital that will expand emergency, outpatient, surgical, and inpatient care.

This transformation will dramatically increase health care capacity in one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities. It’s a reflection of what we’ve built together—and where we’re going next.
