Celebrating Our Most Successful Year Yet
A MESSAGE FROM: Osler Foundation’s Board Chair and President & CEO
This year marks a monumental milestone for William Osler Health System Foundation. Not only do we proudly celebrate Peel Memorial’s 100th anniversary—a century of care, compassion, and community—but we also celebrate the most impactful year in Osler Foundation’s history.
From transformative philanthropy to groundbreaking programs, 2024 has shown what’s possible when a community comes together to support health care close to home. As we honour Peel Memorial’s rich legacy, we look boldly toward the future—with a new hospital on the horizon and an unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and equity in care.
Together, with your support, we are building the next chapter of health care for generations to come.

Tour de Bleu: A Record-Breaking Ride for Youth Mental Health

In September, the Tour de Bleu cycling event—hosted by Mattamy Homes and the Peter Gilgan Foundation—raised $6.23 million, bringing its two-year total for Osler Foundation to an incredible $11.9 million.
These funds have already helped launch Osler’s Adolescent Intensive Day (AID) Program, providing life-saving mental health support for youth facing self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
“This program addresses a critical gap and is already making a profound difference.”
– Ken Mayhew, President & CEO, Osler Foundation
“Thanks to this support, we’re building capacity to ensure youth can access timely care.”
– Dr. Frank Martino, President & CEO, Osler
Hockey Night in Brampton: $14 Million for Brampton’s Second Hospital

August’s third annual Hockey Night in Brampton—hosted by Mayor Patrick Brown—was the most successful yet, raising $14 million to support the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton’s second hospital. NHL stars and community generosity helped make this a record-breaking night in support of a healthier future.
“This event proves how much we can achieve together.”
– Mayor Patrick Brown
Greenpark Group: A $12 Million Gift for Generations

Carlo and Angela Baldassarra, through Greenpark Group and the Carangel Corporation, made a historic $12 million donation—the largest in Greenpark Group’s history—to help build the new Peel Memorial. Their gift reflects decades of leadership in building not just homes, but healthier communities.
“At some point, each of us will need the care of a hospital.”
– Carlo Baldassarra
Signature Events: Building a Healthier Future, Together

Over the past fiscal year, Osler Foundation’s signature events—including the Osler Open golf tournaments in Brampton and Etobicoke, and the vibrant Holi Gala, have united business leaders, community members, and philanthropic champions to raise over $1.3 million in support of local health care. These events embody the energy, generosity, and shared commitment that drive Osler forward, bringing us ever closer to a future of world-class, accessible care for all.
Peel Memorial at 100: Honouring the Past, Building the Future

Since opening in 1925, Peel Memorial has been a cornerstone of care for Brampton. As we celebrate its 100th anniversary, we also mark a bold new beginning—with a new hospital that will expand emergency, outpatient, surgical, and inpatient care.
This transformation will dramatically increase health care capacity in one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities. It’s a reflection of what we’ve built together—and where we’re going next.
Every donation brings us closer. Every action helps shape the future.
