Seema Sharma, Financial Planner and President of Wealth and Estate Financial Canada, is a big believer in supporting the community; not only as a member of society, but as a woman with a lot to contribute.

After emigrating from India, Seema finished her university education in Canada and worked with RBC for over 23 years before starting her own independent financial practice in 2017.

For the past five years, Seema has been volunteering her time on the committee for Holi Gala, one of William Osler Health System Foundation’s signature events. On April 9^th, 2022, the 9^th annual Holi Gala will transport you to the majestic palaces of Rajasthan, India through music, food and dancing; all in support of Osler’s three hospitals: Brampton Civic, Etobicoke General and Peel Memorial. According to Seema, this is an event that should not be missed.

“It’s an experience everyone should witness,” said Seema. “It’s all about this positive energy and wonderful souls coming together in support of a great cause. I’ve never seen another event like it—from the decorations, to the dances, the enjoyment, and the colours! You need to see it to believe it.”

Since inception, Holi Gala has raised over $2.3 million for Osler Foundation. This year, Seema and the committee hope to raise over $450,000 to support Osler’s recovery from the global pandemic.

Seema wants other women to feel empowered to donate their time to community initiatives. “I take great pride in knowing that my contributions will impact the people who utilize our hospitals,” said Seema. “I have daughters and I hope my efforts inspire them and other women to get involved and support their local communities.”
