Brampton Civic emergency waiting area named in honour of Peter Cipriano, Goldpark Group

A celebration took place on December 4 at Brampton Civic Hospital to honour Peter Cipriano of Goldpark Group Inc., for his generous donation to William Osler Health System. The emergency waiting area at Brampton Civic has been named in recognition of Mr. Cipriano’s gift, which will help provide equipment for Osler hospitals, including Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

“Many people don’t realize that 100% of the equipment in a hospital must be funded by the community,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation. “At William Osler Health System, we rely on donations to equip our hospitals, and the $500,000 donation from Peter Cipriano is transformative. Not only is Peter an incredible business leader, he truly understands the life-changing impact this investment will have on health care in the area.”

Representatives from the city of Brampton were on hand to officially unveil the Peter Cipriano Goldpark Group Inc. Emergency Waiting Area, including Patrick Brown, Brampton Mayor, along with Councillor Rowena Santos, Wards 1 & 5; Regional Councillor Paul Vicente, Wards 1 & 5; City Councillor Doug Whillans, Wards 2 & 6; City Councillor Jeff Bowman, Wards 3 & 4; City Councillor Charmaine Williams, Wards 7 & 8 and Regional Councillor Pat Fortini, Wards 7 & 8.

“Having a great hospital is important. You never want to use it, but when you need it, you want to be sure it is there, ready to help,” said Peter Cipriano. “At Goldpark Group, we have a long-standing tradition of building communities. I’m very happy to be able to make a meaningful gift that will contribute to the well-being of the Brampton and Etobicoke communities.”

Founder and CEO of Goldpark Group, a land development company, Mr. Cipriano’s philanthropic work in the community extends more than two decades.
