Launched in May 2023, the HumberOsler Academic Practice Partnership (APP) is the first collaboration of its kind in Canada between a polytechnic and a hospital. This pioneering initiative is transforming how we prepare the next generation of nurses—while also enriching the experience of our current teams.

Through the APP, Humber nursing students begin hands-on learning at Osler hospitals—including Etobicoke General—starting in their second year. Unlike traditional placements, they return to the same site each semester, building their skills, confidence, and lasting relationships with patients and colleagues. For our nurses, the program provides new opportunities to mentor, teach, and grow professionally.

By investing in both today’s nurses and tomorrow’s, the APP strengthens our health care workforce, enhances patient care, and helps make Osler a workplace of choice. It’s not just a partnership—it’s a transformational model shaping the future of nursing in Canada.
