Osler Foundation announces new Chair and Board Members

Osler Foundation is delighted to announce Bob Peacock as Chair of Osler Foundation’s Board of Directors. Mr. Peacock has served on Osler Foundation’s Board of Directors for seven years, and most recently as Vice-Chair. Mr. Peacock takes over the role from Kulvir Singh Gill, who has been on the Board for the past 11 years and held the position of chair for the last six years.

“It has been an honour and a pleasure to work with Kulvir over the years,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, Osler Foundation. “He has been a guiding force for Osler Foundation and integral in helping us improve the quality of health care in our community. I sincerely thank Kulvir for his leadership and contributions during his tenure on the Board. I look forward to working with Bob to continue this great work.”

Bob Peacock is CEO of Almag Aluminum, an award-winning custom aluminum extruder based in Brampton and Ardmore, Alabama. Bob graduated from the Engineering program at the University of Waterloo and earned his MBA from York University. Bob has been active on a number of Boards, including the Rotary Club of Toronto-Islington, Brampton Board of Trade, and the Aluminum Extruders Council. In 2017, Bob successfully concluded the $30 million campaign to help build and equip the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness as its Campaign Chair.

“I am thrilled to be taking the baton as Board Chair for Osler Foundation,” said Bob Peacock, Board Chair, Osler Foundation. “Through my work on the campaign to build and equip Peel Memorial, I can see firsthand how a group of committed individuals can change our community for the better. I am looking forward to our work ahead.”

During the Annual General Meeting, three new general Board Members were also announced:

  • Dr. Gurjit Bajwa – Dr. Bajwa has been a staff Emergency Physician at Etobicoke General Hospital (Etobicoke General) for almost two decades. He completed his Bachelor of Science in microbiology and his medical degree at the University of Toronto and his residency at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Bajwa is actively involved in community service both inside and outside the hospital and has supported Osler Foundation for more than a decade. Dr. Bajwa was a Co-Chair of Osler Foundation’s Holi Gala committee for five years.
  • Tina Larsen – Tina Larsen is a Brampton-based business woman who founded and led several companies in the metal and steel industry, including Canadian Metal Cutters, A.T.E.C Construction and PC Equipment. Her businesses imports and exports around the world, including the Middle East and India. Tina currently serves as a Director of New Brampton and has served as a Director for the Brampton Board of Trade.
  • Dr. Roberta Minna – Dr. Minna is currently Interim Chief of Surgery at Etobicoke General and has been a staff surgeon there for two decades. Dr. Minna completed her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry, medical degree and general surgical training at the University of Toronto. She has also been an active panel member of The Out Of Hospital Endoscopy Clinic working group through Cancer Care Ontario. Dr. Minna is currently featured as one of Osler Foundation’s ‘Doc Stars’ in support of Osler Foundation’s current Etobicoke General Campaign.
